guide to law

The Law Guide is a collection of articles written by attorneys that answer many popular legal questions concerning over 100 different topics using language that is easy to understand. You can find the topic you are interested in by selecting one of the categories listed below or by searching the topic in the navigation menu on the left. Each article answers common legal questions and provides an overview of a specific area of the law. For more in-depth information on a particular topic, you can also view additional articles that cover more specific areas of the law by selecting one of the sub-areas listed in our navigation menu or search by subject in the left column.

This guide is designed to help users evaluate legal information accessed on the Web and includes links to reliable sources of law from international, multinational, foreign, federal, state, territorial, and tribal jurisdictions. It is not intended to be a legal research tutorial, but instead an introduction to the type of specialized legal research that may be required to effectively locate and use online sources of law from different jurisdictions.

Writing a publishable quality article is a skill that can be learned with practice. The first step is to create a structure, a skeleton of the article around which you can develop the body. It is important that your article be concise and to the point so that it can be read at a glance by the general public. Avoid using big legal jargons and try to make it as simple as possible.
